ABDOMINOPLASTY OR DERMOLIPECTOMY

If you want to improve the appearance of your abdomen, because it is flaccid and you feel that you have excess, we can perform what in plastic surgery we call abdominoplasty, for which it is necessary to enter the operating room and place general anesthesia and must be performed exclusively by a Surgeon Certified plastic.

Abdominoplasty consists of the removal of excess skin and abdominal fat, followed by the repositioning of the abdominal muscles, through a suprapubic incision (above the pubis); there are cases that need incisions to relocate the navel, in order to place it in the anatomical area that corresponds to it.

Through the suprapubic incision, all the skin is lifted up to the navel, it is stretched and we remove all the excess fat and skin, in order to make the abdomen flat. We perform internal sutures to eliminate sagging and strengthen the inner wall of the abdomen.

It is very important that patients know the recovery times for a tummy tuck:

  • Home rest: 2 to 4 weeks after surgery

  • Normal life: after 4 to 6 weeks

  • Total disappearance of inflammation: 3 months to 6 months.

The scar should look like we see in the illustration, after one year of abdominoplasty.
